World Radiology Day

Longowal Group of Colleges celebrated World Radiology Day on 10 November 2023 at its Longowal Academic College, Dandrala Campus with the aim to spread awareness about the significance of radiology in healthcare. This day is celebrated to commemorate the day (8 November 1895) on which X-rays were discovered by the German physicist Wilhelm Röntgen. To observe the day, many competitions and cultural events were conducted. The students whole –heartedly participated in events like Poetry, Skit, Rangoli Competition, Poster Making Competition, singing and many more. The students through their speeches make people aware about the working and scope of Radiology in diagnosing diseases in humans and animals. A quiz was also organized on the theme Radiology. Dr. Vinod Katyal (Director/ Principal) in his speech talked about the need of building greater awareness of the value that radiology contributes to safe patient care. He also highlighted the importance of improving public understanding of the vital role radiologists and radiographers play in the healthcare continuum. Dr. Rosy Katyal (Committee Head) distributed the prizes to the winners. Overall, the event was a huge success.
