National Innovation Day

With the objective of inculcating scientific temperament and to encourage interest in research among students, Longowal Polytechnic Wing of Longowal Group of Colleges has organized ‘National Innovation Day’ on the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam with the collaboration of Institute Innovation Council of the College on 13 October 2023.There was a big turnout of students from trades of Diploma Mechanical, Diploma Civil, Diploma Electrical and BCA. Students created many innovative models as hands on experience. They prepared still and working models including Portable AC, Chandrayaan -3 with Coding of HTML, Hologram with waste material, Electronic Mixer Grinder, Compressed Air Engine , model of Longowal Polytechnic Wing Building and many more.  Students displayed and presented their models, specimens and charts with a great involvement. Students of Diploma Mechanical Engg. and BCA got first prize, students of Diploma Electrical Engg. and Diploma Computer Science Engg. got second prize and Diploma Civil Engg. students got third prize. Dr. Rosy Katyal ( Principal) in her speech emphasized the need for facilitating critical thinking among the students and encouraged the students to think out of the box in order to find solutions to the existing problems.She appreciated the efforts of the lecturer’s and the students.Overall the National Innovation Day celebration was a grand success.
