“Donate Blood Save Lives.”

Longowal Group of Colleges, Derabassi, in collaboration with Bharat Vikas Parishad, Vivekanand, Derabassi, and Rotary club of Chandigarh, successfully organised the 15th Blood Donation Camp on 2nd April 2026 at Longowal Polytechnic and Pharmacy College in the loving memory of Late Shri B.B. Katyal (Founder Chairman) .The event was honored by the presence of Chief Guest, Shri Amit Gupta (P.C.S.), SDM, Derabassi, SAS Nagar, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged everyone to actively participate in such noble causes.

Smt.Kanta Katyal, Chairperson of LGC expressed heartfelt appreciation for all donors and organizers. On this occasion, Dr. Kapil Katyal, Vice Chairman of Longowal Group of Colleges, and Dr. Vinod Katyal, Admission Director and Principal of Longowal Academic College, jointly stated that such initiatives reflect the institution’s deep commitment towards social responsibility and humanitarian values.

President Shri Nitin Jindal, Secretary Ashwani Sharma, Treasurer Jai Prakash Dhiman, Mr. Upesh Bansal, Mr. Paramjit Saini,Mr. Barkha Ram and other members from Bharat Vikas Parishad, Vivekanand, Derabassi, stated that the organization remains dedicated to social welfare and is proud to collaborate with institutions to promote blood donation and community service.

From Rotary Club of Chandigarh President Rtn, Abha Joshi Sharma, Secretary Rtn. Arun Aggarwal, Rtn. Teena Virk, Rtn. Jaspal Singh Sidhu, Rtn. Jitender Kapoor, Rtn. A.P Singh, Rtn. Hassan Singh Mejia, Dr. Manish Rai (Director Rotary & Blood Resource Centre) ensured the smooth and safe conduct of the camp. Members of the Rotary Club also appreciated the excellent arrangements and highlighted the importance of such initiatives in saving lives.

203 Registrations were done completed of which 101 donated blood.Dr. Rosy Katyal, Principal of Longowal Polytechnic and Pharmacy College, Event Committee Head of college, and Director Community Services of Rotary Club Chandigarh, expressed her gratitude to all donors and volunteers for their generous contribution and encouraged everyone to continue supporting such meaningful initiatives.

A large number of students, faculty members, and volunteers participated enthusiastically in the camp. The management expressed heartfelt gratitude to all dignitaries, collaborating organizations, medical staff, and volunteers for making the event a grand success.
