Anti Tobacco awareness campaign at Longowal Polytechnic College,Derabassi conducted by the team of Civil Surgeon, Distt Mohali

In order to make youth aware of the ill-effects of consuming tobacco products, an ‘Anti Tobacco Awareness Campaign’ was organized in Longowal Polytechnic College, Derabassi on 15 October, 2018. Dr.Rupinder kaur, District Tobacco cell nodal officer was the key speaker at the seminar. She detailed the students about the ill effects of tobacco. Dr.Sangeeta Jain, Senior Medical Officer was also present in seminar. She said that consumption of tobacco might lead to much deadly diseases such as cancer. Dr.Rita Bharadwaj, District Civil Surgeon also discussed with the students about passive smoking which had become risky for the health and motivated the students not to use tobacco. The poster making competition on the topic ‘Anti-Tabacco’ was organized by the team of civil surgeon, District Mohali. The trophies and certificates were given to the First, Second & Third winners and the certificates of participation were given to all the participants of the competition.
